Linda Price-Bennett is the lead designer and owner of Viali, a full service operation specializing in the design and decoration of quality residences and places of business. Linda is known for her sophisticated, visionary designs and an innate ability to capture her clients’ points of view. Artfully mixing a myriad of styles and periods and incorporating the best of traditional and modern design, she oversees the creation of distinctive spaces that are both beautiful and functional and reflect the uniqueness of each client.
While her professional experience has focused on real estate, building, renovation and decoration, Linda has also been actively involved in educating young people in the fields of art and design and inspiring the next generation of artists and designers.
Claire Landry holds an advanced Diplôme d’études collégiales in Interior Design from Dawson College in Montréal, Québec. Being fluently bilingual and having worked in the customer service industry for many years, Claire has strong communication and relationship skills that allow her to work seamlessly with clients and other design professionals to develop design solutions that are safe, functional and attractive. Claire has the ability to anticipate and meet clients’ needs and to produce detail oriented designs with the use of 2D and 3D drawings.
Claire’s interest in interior design came from her desire to ameliorate the built environment. She has a passion for environmental design is determined to receive her LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation.
Karyn Watson’s love of Art and Design has lead her on a life long journey of artistic expression. Originally schooled in Fine Arts at the University of Western Ontario, Karyn continues her painting exploration in large format abstract canvases and most recently encaustic textural creations. Her love of fashion inspired her to study Fashion Illustration at the Richard Robinson School in Ottawa. She spent more than a dozen years working in the props department at the National Arts Centre as a buyer, painter and set decorator. Other projects included large musicals (Miss Saigon) small film production(National Film Board)murals, sculptures and displays for restaurants,museums and private homes. Karyn graduated with honors from the Interior Design Program at Ottawa’s Algonquin College, and presently utilizes her many skills to create beautiful and functional spaces for residential and commercial clients. With a design philosophy that favors a sophisticated contemporary approach, Karyn prides herself in guiding her client through the entire process. Introducing them to new possibilities , sometimes beyond their comfort zone, as well as the benefits of quality craftsmanship and products while always ensuring the clients needs are fulfilled and their personality reflected in their environment. Christopher Hoyt, OAA, AIA Born in Kigali, Rwanda, Christopher Hoyt grew up in Alberta, Canada and has over 15 years experience as an architect and urban designer working at nationally recognized architecture firms in the US and Canada. While in the Chicago office of Esherick Homsey Dodge and Davis, Christopher worked on Factor 10 House, chosen as one of the AIA Committee on the Environment’s Top Ten Projects in 2004. Chris also worked on such noteworthy projects as City Centre DC in Washington DC, Bridgepoint Health Redevelopment, and the Bay Adelaide Centre, both in Toronto.
Chris has designed single family residential projects in Ottawa, Washington DC, and Toronto. He was recently asked, along with a small group of alumni, to consult on the master plan for his alma mater Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Chris taught master degree level architectural design studio at his alma mater in Michigan and has served on numerous design juries, including at Andrews University, for the American Institute of Steel Construction’s National Student Design Competition, Carleton University in Ottawa, and at the Corcoran College of Art in Washington DC.
Yvonne Potter, BID, started her design career studying Architecture in Edmonton from 1986-1988. Yvonne then earned a Bachelor of Industrial Design in 1996 from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. That summer she became an apprentice furniture designer at Fratelli Motta, a modern furniture manufacturer in Milan, Italy. Her growing passion for modern Italian design lead to the creation of her company Y Design Studio and the launch of her own furniture line called Y Collection. Several pieces from this collection have been put into production and are currently being sold through Edimass furniture [Guangzhou, China] and David Edward furniture [Baltimore, USA].
Yvonne expanded into interior design in 2010, focusing on condominium customization and residential and small business renovations that include her bespoke furniture and built-in designs. 131 Holland Penthouse and Powell Lofts Condominium are 2 condominium turnkey projects featuring her signature style and modern furniture designs. Her multi-disciplinary, warm-modern design vision can be seen in Ottawa’s popular Black Cat Bistro, where the interior, furniture, lighting, upholstered acoustic panels, menu and environmental graphics are Yvonne’s creations.
The combination of Yvonne’s diverse design experience brings a unique perspective and flare to all of Viali’s creative work, especially when it comes to architectural details, materials and craftsmanship.
Specializing in the decoration of quality interiors, under the direction of Linda Price-Bennett, Viali guides clients in the planning, building, finishing and furnishing of new homes and businesses as well as remodeling and redecorating of existing homes and businesses. Our body of residential work includes city and country homes and high rise apartments. In addition to residences, we work with business owners to create efficient, unique and inviting places of business.
